A RIVERSIDE WALK
Starting from The Abercrave Inn. Grid Ref: SN 824128

An easy stroll along the River Tawe, visiting Caehopkin. Then back to the river and returning via Abercrave Church to the Abercrave Inn.

Cross the stile and, keeping a fence on your right, head Northerly across the field to another stile and then descend some steps made from railway sleepers. Walk alongside the river to a wooden bridge.

This first bridge over Nant Llech had to be replaced twice in the last four years, by the National Park, due to falling trees and river erosion. You are now at ‘Two Bridges”. Turn left to cross the second metal footbridge and at the metal kissing gate turn left again. Head South Westerly, following the river Tawe downstream.

As the path veers away from the river continue through another metal kissing gate and then through a cottage garden and up a gravel track to the main A4067 road.

Cross the road in front of St David's Church and turn left, following the A4067 Westerly back towards Abercrave. Just before the pavement descends you can see the driveway leading to Abercrave House on your right.

Go down the hill and pass the large stone monolith on your left which carries the Brecon Beacons National Park Boundary Sign. Turn right here onto Heol Tawe, ascending to the  Abercrave Inn and the conclusion of the walk.
